Paris, Kingdom of France
As a French painter in the Rococo style, François Boucher was one of the most revered artist of the 1700s. Though he was highly regarded as a draftsman and recruited as a decorative painter, (basically the skills needed for interior design) as a painter and etcher, he was quite a bit beyond remarkable. His work as a painter spans a wide variety of subjects honored in the classical tradition. Boucher is known for his utopic pastoral scenes, voluptuous paintings, etchings and drawings.
