The presence of Jazz is in-extractable from Brown’s art, and like Jazz, it is a multicultural experience. However, though the appeal of both transcends all cultures, both art forms have come about from an almost primordial African consciousness and focus. Both are uniquely African-American and share each other’s brazen subtleties. Brown also brought to his art a homogeneous compilation of all he has studied. Thus in Brown’s work, we are aware of the architect, draftsman and illustrator, who all help to generate his visions in Abstract Expressionism and Figurative art.
