Henri Matisse

Matisse, along with Chagall and Picasso were amazing colourists and the main innovative forces of modern art, not to mention the greatest seminal artists of the movement. Matisse was educated at Académie Julian. He was a superb draughtsman, printmaker, sculptor, collage artist and a very special painter. His work was in the Post-Impressionist, Fauvist and Modernist genera.
